I'm taking those 2 classes with the same teacher, one of them is about race and ethnicity! It's very interesting class. For the last week, we have been talking about the conflict between Arabs and Jews!!! and i was so surprised on the way she has been teaching this very complex topic. For the first time, i hear someone talking about the Palestinian and Israeli conflict in a very honest and clear way without playing with words or making some excuses up, and guess what? the teacher is Jewish! she talked and talked about the early history of the issue...how Britain divided the Arab areas and how secretly they given Syria and Lebanon to the French. Jordan to the British.....etc. and then how they decided to name Palestine "Israel"...she talked about how Zionism started the whole thing. She talked about how at first they divided Palestine; 56% for Jews and 43% for Arabs! She also talked about how that agreement dose not exist anymore even thought what they are doing is illegal under the UN rules!...and how the Israeli army is taking control of everything; destroying the Arabs houses and talking their lands...for the new settlement to come!! she talked and talked about everything in a very surprising way to me. She even mentioned how the problems with Jews started in Europe...Germany and such....and mentioned how wired it is for them to bring all the Jews to the Arabs areas instead of European countries, but who is going to give up their lands for those people!!! I really felt like wow, finally somebody is teaching and actually spending like 3 classes on this very critical subject. students were asking many good questioners too, I'm really excited about it:) During the lecture this guy behind my kept asking me questions like ..so, can Palestinian people go back to their areas and stuff?? I told him how hard it is for the..i told him how they have check points on the street, how student have to wait to pass those check points.... i told him how people live in tents and refuge camps...The teacher even mentioned the American girl Rachel, who went their to protest and how the Israelis tank ignored her and went over her body and killed her without any word from the American government! Also, she mentioned that how one of her friends from college has been killed their too.
Ahhhhhhh, this world is so crazy!! oh ya one more thing!...one time this teacher even mentioned the issue of this Arabic professor Al'aryani who has been in jail for no good reason! amazing ha we were talking about racism and how Arabs have been treated after 9/11 she also explained how actually not all Arabs are Muslimes only..there is Christian Arabs and Jews too..etc ....thank God for good teachers.
and I can only say La hawla wla qutta ella bellah! If you want, you can see the full story of this man here:
Hmm, so today alhamdulilah we bought this new computer disk. And few days a go we finally have installed this camera in our window...we can still see the boys showing up!! I don't wana talk about it....Also today our vacuum just stopped working:( and i ended up cleaning the living room with the broom;)
Tomorrow morning, Ammar is going to Big Bear on a snow boarding trip with the masjied youths, "boys and girls". and inshallaha my mother- in law is coming to babysitte zaido while i go to my Sat class. God bless her...
Ok, so lets talk about cute zaido:-) the other day Ammar woke up at like 7am and asked me where is zaid? i told him oh I'm sure he left our bed and maybe he is sleeping on the floor as usual. Ammar went to see but zaido was not there, so i told him my be zaid decided to sleep in his room, but no body is there!! i told ammar to go look down satires..but i know zaido doesn't like to go down by him self! it was wired...but again no sign for little zaid....in the end Ammar yield, he is here!! OH you have to come see this....I jumped to see and here is where we found him.....;))
heheh, he was sleeping inside his closet!
and here are some more things that little Zaid has been doing this week in pic:-)
