Fun Weekend, Summer school, and Zaid
I have been busy with summer school...i finished my first test in Abnormal Psychology on Wednesday and i'm waiting for my grad. We studied about some theories and basically an introduction about what makes a behavior to be considered abnormal, symptoms, treatments....and after the test we studies our first abnormal behavior "Anxiety Disorders". It is very interesting to learn about those things as there is different types of them. For example, there is "Fear" which is almost biologically based alarm respond to a dangerous or life threatening situation, Then there is "Anxiety" which is fearing something about the future, feeling powerless while becoming hypervigilant. Then we have "Panic Disorder" which last for 10 minutes...like sweating, shortening of breath, fast heart beat...and the "Panic Disorder" itself has different types too!! like the unexpected ones, situationally bound, and situationally predisposed. Then we have "Social phobia", "Obsessive- Compulsive Disorder", and "Acute Stress Disorder".. etc
And here is the bad news: among adults, women are more likely to develop disorders than men, and among children, boys are more likely to have them than girls!!
I have to say those are very interesting topics, but for me I'd like to only read them not to be tested on them;) i'm not so enthusiastic about this class also because it starts at 8am which means i have to wake up earlier to drop zaido at the day care. I hate to wake him from his sleep. The second thing that i don't like about this class is the teacher's way of lecturing where she only reads from the book! can you imagine sitting in a chair for 3 and a half hours knowing that all the info is from the book!! I'm gona go home and read the book anyway!! but it's ok..it's summer school and it's going to be over fast. wow i can't believe that we are in our 3rd week already subhanallah...
Hmm what els, last Friday there was a fun day at the masjid for the student of Al-Huda School and it was very nice mashallah. They brought some animals: horses, rabbits, lamps, chickens, ducks, and this wall thenge so the kids can climb it, food, face painting which i liked doing;))
And they also brought "Noor Group" to perform there nice songs and they were good mashallah.
Then Saturday we had the yearly Blood Drive event again in the masjid with the Umma Clinic. This time i also donated some of my "khafeef" blood lol, only this time i got dizzy afterward! they made me relax, drink some juice, and eat then i was fine like a horse alhamdulilah. I asked the nurse how long should a person wait to be able to donate again, she said around 6 months, but for people like me she said once a year is enough!
About zaido he is doing good alhamdulilah going to the day care and enjoying playing with the kids. It's so cool when i knock at the door to drop him off...some of the kids run to see who is it outside the door, trying to look from the small glass window, and when they know it's Zaid they all scream Zaido zaido zaidoooo..and the other kids run to the door too to see him:) wallai they make my day:) how nice is it to know that your son is loved...alhamdulilah. when the sister open the door..she laughs..very popular kid lol. Allah y7meek ya zaido...may Allah keeps you surrounded with good, loving people. May Allah bless us and our kids with clean hearts and good manners. Allahuma kama a7santa khalky, fa a7sen kholoky.
Ameen
